Workers often need to wear respirators to protect them against harmful airborne contaminants. Occupational Health and Safety code requires that health testing must be done for exposed workers (silica, coal dust and asbestos etc.). Employers are responsible to ensure that proper health monitoring is conducted.
Respirator protection health monitoring includes some or all of these tests:
- Respirator mask size fit test (Quantitative – CSA method)
- Fit to wear a respirator test
- Spirometry (Forced expiry lung function test)
- Blood pressure and pulse check
- Chest X-ray
We ensure your workers are medically fit to wear respiratory equipment and are accurately fitted with their masks using quantitative fit testing equipment.
AUDIOMETRY (HEARING TEST)
Workers exposed to noise in excess of OHS standards must have audiometric air conduction tests done:
- Baseline (within 6 months of hire date)
- One year after baseline.
- Then every two years thereafter.
Our qualified technicians interpret the data and inform the worker of his hearing levels. Education on hearing protection is included. More extensive hearing conservation training can be customized to your workplace upon request.
